Late Summer Travels

Paul and I have traveled almost the full length of Interstate 5 this summer--30 miles from the Mexican border to 20 miles from the Canadian. Most recently we went with Melanie, Karl and kids plus Valerie and Mike to the beautiful area around Washington's snow-covered Mount Baker.

This is the famous "Picture Lake" where wildflowers bloom next to patches of snow at "Heather Meadows". We spent three nights at a house in Snowline, in the Mt. Baker recreational area, where we hiked, fished and swam.

On the way home some of us stopped at Boeing's Museum of Flight where Mason took a short trip.

Nevada's Not That Bad

On the way to southern California from Idaho, Paul and I recently traveled south through eastern Nevada, a route far less traveled than our usual Nevada crossings. The scenery was different, and we found beauty in the desert.

Old Town San Diego

While in southern California in June, Paul and I spent an afternoon visiting San Diego's historical district, and had some wonderful Mexican food for lunch.

It was fun to see the living history exhibts in the restored homes, municipal buildings, and shops.

Idaho Visit

As part of our summer vacation, Paul and I attended the Lars Larsen, Sr. family reunion (Paul's mother's family) in Kimberly, Idaho, near Twin Falls. We visited the famous Perrine Bridge over the Snake River canyon. It is so amazing!

Fun With Nate and Jane....and Boys!

Nathan, Jane, John, Alex and Chris spent a week with us in July.
Even though we had some rain, we had a great time.

A highlight for John was practicing golf with his dad....with his very own golf clubs!

An empty box was fun, too! (Note the banged-up face due to a fall enroute. . .it was better by the time he went home.)

We celebrated Spencer's birthday while they were here. John enjoyed it as much as Spencer.

Popcorn was fun, too....

Chris practiced his walking....pretty good for seven months!

Summer Fun at Legoland

Paul and I joined Perry, Monica and family at Legoland in the San Diego area. It was fun, and the park is beautiful!
