Val, Paul and I spent a day in the Tacoma Museum of Glass where there are some wonderful displays by world famous glass artist Dale Chihuly, a Tacoma native.
One of the most interesting things about the museum is visiting the hot shop where artists are working. They stop and tell you about their pieces.
Glass towers outside the museum.
This is a section of the ceiling on a "bridge of glass" going to the museum. Done by Dale Chihuly, it is valued at $12 million.

One of the great day trips we took was north of us to Skagit Valley to see the tulip fields where tulips are grown for their bulbs. April is the peak blooming time, and many visitors come to see the colorful display.
It was a little brisk on the ferry ride.
Paul on board the ferry.
We went on the good ship (ferry) Klickitat.
Val in a gift shop while waiting for the ferry: "Wouldn't this be great for Nate?"
The speciman gardens where you can choose your bulbs.
Val, "Where did this come from?
The weather was cool, but the tulips love it.
